It’s important to wake up in the morning and do what you love. Going to work is a huge part of life and if you’re a business owner, chances are you are doing something that you’re passionate about. If you’re not and all you’re doing is hanging around because it pays the bills, you half like it, or at best you used to like it and because its comfort, then you need to read this.
Doing what you love is more than what it sounds like; it is a key ingredient to a successful journey. You will wake up in the morning with more energy to do stuff, you will drive harder and faster to succeed in whatever it is you are focused on. The best part of it all is you will never work one day in your life!
I hear many business owners say that they can sell better than their best sales person in their company. I believe that and the reason is passion. They love what they do!
As a business owner I have reached many points where what I have is not enough or what I thought I want is no longer good for me. This to me means that I am no longer in love with what I am doing and I need to spice things up, find something with more passion for me to strive higher in my goals.
For some, this might sound like a disaster point in their career. For me, it is exactly the opposite. These are the things that get you thinking once more and excited about your doings.
I am pretty sure that if you look around your office you might find a way to use your current setup to do more things and get you excited with your work once again. Take a look at what you love to do; ask yourself questions like “What would you like to be doing?”, and “What makes you happy? “.
Here is an example from my own life:
I took a look around and saw what I love in life. I know I love real estate; I enjoy the process of looking for the property, negotiating, buying, designing and working with the contractors. I even enjoy managing the properties. I keep myself busy throughout the year with this hobby of mine and I am never bored. The whole time I ask myself how I can improve my hobby while at the same time I am looking for more challenges at work. I thought maybe I can combine my work with my hobby. Can I start a small property management and have my very talented staff help me with this new idea? I probably can. Billing can charge the customers and tenants, I can handle the services calls and get the same crew that takes care of my properties to do the same to the new ones as if they where mine.
I am excited about real estate and love new ventures. You know what, I like this so much I might really do this.
