Business Advice: First step…Find customers

In the past there was traditional advertising , namely Phone books and news paper ads. Most businesses that stuck to these practices while providing decent customer service and acceptable products would see revenue growth. Some businesses added targeted magazine advertising, direct home mailing like coupons and postcards. Some of the bigger companies could afford to pay for radio and TV commercials.

All of these are great advertising methods that worked in the past, some still work in today’s market depending on the type of company you have and product or service you offer. However, none of these methods are a good solution for start-up companies, not all new businesses have raised capital and can afford to open with a full page ad in a magazine then sit back and see what happens. Even if that is the case, I’m not sure you will get the best ROI for you money.

Small and new businesses need a better guarantee for their money. Every dollar spent in advertising needs to increase sales by one or two dollars at least for their business to survive.

So how do you do this?

Well, you’re in luck. It so happens to be that poor Google needs your money and they in return can offer you the best way to target your potential prospect.

When you ask Google’s search engine a question it finds you the answer, when someone is looking for mobile auto detailing, you can be what they find. Google’s pages are full of results, some of which are organic and some of which are PPC (Pay Per Click). PPC are normally at the top with a light background and it says in small writing “Ad”.

These results are advertisements and lead to someone’s business. There is a lot more to learn about Google Ad Words and not everything is a simple as one might think. Google gives you the best tools to understand and improve your ads and there are many of companies out there that will help you set this up and maintain it for a fee.

There are many advantages to this solution but the most important one is the instant effect on your business. You don’t need to wait for circulation, you can fix a miss print on the spot and you can turn it on or off whenever you like. Better yet – you control the price.
