As we approach the end of the year we are all busy with the upcoming holidays. Everyone is buying gifts for the family, mailing them out and planning their holiday vacations.
As much as this time of year is a financially stressful time, it can also be great times to simply say thanks to the people around you that make things happen.
Start off with your company’s employees, those people close to you in your day by day operations. These are the most important people in your company’s success and without them none of what you have would be possible. This year I chose to say it with a small office potluck lunch. On the last day before the Christmas weekend, everyone is invited to share their favorite dishes and recipes with their co-workers. It will be a great time to just hang out in the office for a change, and a great platform for giving out Christmas bonuses or gifts.
Also on your thank you list should be your customers, as they pay the bills. This year I took the opportunity to say thanks by mailing each of my customers a nice glass mug with our company’s logo and slogan. I hope that my customers will put them to use and they last them for a long time to come.
Giving your customers useful gifts with your company logo serves many purposes and can go a long way. Mostly, people just love getting gifts. The more useful the better! People around them might see it and ask about your company. Branding is an ongoing task as is marketing and this is just one more way of doing so. Your customer relations are part of your marketing. If your customers are happy, you must be doing good job marketing.
Holidays are a personal time for all of us, time to be with our families and friends. Doing things like this shows everyone around you that business is personal just as much as it is business.
Happy Holidays.
